Dowsers Improve a Hospice
Written by Kerry Louise Gillett
On the 17th of February 2001, nine experienced and talented dowsers
got together in an office in San Francisco to clear the inauspicious
energies of a hospice for patients with AIDS. Here is our story of what
we experienced and a chronicle of the process that was used.
GETTING PERMISSION
My first step was to get permission from those in charge of whatever
hospice we worked with. I could see that my telephone call might be
a cause of some sleepless nights for some folks and wanted to approach
those who would be open to such uncommon doings; so I dowsed through
the list of hospices in the Yellow Pages for San Francisco, asking first
to be guided to those that would be open to the kind of work we do.
I was guided to four locations. I then dowsed to find which of those
four needed our help, and ended up with three.
In my efforts to get the okay, I learned that, in the case of hospices,
the staff are usually overworked and stressed by their daily contact with
life-and-death issues, and calling me back was way down on their list
of priorities. Each of the three organizations I talked to were receptive,
their curiosity and interest piqued; but several follow-ups were needed
for each one as return calls were few and far between, and each person
I talked to would bounce me over to someone else for final approval.
BEING FRANK ABOUT WHAT WE DO
I was frank with them. It was important that they be fully informed of
what our project consisted of. Most of our work would be done remotely,
off the premises, but we also would want to get a firsthand view of our
object site to check our work and to do any fine-tuning that might be
necessary. We wouldn’t want to surprise the staff or unsettle the
residents (patients), our members unexpectedly showing up with funny-looking
instruments that might disturb guests and family of critically ill people.
I made a solemn promise to each manager I talked to that we would proceed
so discretely that most of the people in the hospice wouldn’t even
know we were there. We would be quiet and respectful.
Finally I got a call from the manager of the hospice that would end up
being our beloved subject. This was a hospice whose residents were all
AIDS patients. The manager was not only intrigued by our offer to clear
the geopathic stress and electromagnetics; she also told me that her staff
was deeply affected by the atmosphere of grief and asked if we would do
a space clearing. We discussed, in brief, the process of a shamanic space
clearing and how that would not do in a place with critically ill people,
all the bells and commotion. But a psychic space clearing, remotely done,
of course, yes. She said she’d be happy to send me a map of the
premises and would plan on meeting us at the hospice site after the remote
dowsing was finished.
GETTING A MAP FOR REMOTE DOWSING
Three days before our meeting day I still had not received a map; so
I decided to take a trip to San Francisco to go on-premises, uninvited,
to see what I could find. I met the executive director who greeted me
with a warm welcome and provided me with a perfect map of the interior.
This trip had the added benefit of my being able to feel the energies
of the building pre-treatment. It was bad. My whole body became jittery
with an energetic overload that I decided to leave to the group to cull
out.
ASKING WHAT THE PEOPLE WOULD LIKE FROM OUR SESSION
As I had done on the phone with the manager, I asked the executive director
what he would like to see accomplished; and he explained that the hospice
had moved to this building a few years before and that, ever since that
move, the rate of sickness was up among the staff and that everyone was
more stressed, staff and patients alike. It sounded like a dowser’s
cup of tea.
I left the hospice delighted that, finally, our Hospice Project had everything
it needed, permission of the higher-ups and a beautifully detailed map
of the premises.
GETTING THE DOWSERS TOGETHER
One of our members in San Francisco offered her office as a meeting place
in which we could do our remote work. Several days before, I said prayers
that the perfect people in the perfect number be present at our Saturday
meeting. And those prayers were brilliantly answered. Our group of nine
worked together in harmony to create healing and clearing for the Hospice
building, the patients, the staff; and I believe I can safely say that
each member of our group came away from this project with a sense of personal
self-healing.
INTRODUCING THE GROUP TO OUR SUBJECT AND OUR TASKS
At our remote-dowsing site, I shared with the group the history of the
formation of the hospice, which I had gleaned from conversations with
the manager and executive director and from their web site. The group
was told that this was not a pure hospice. There were people who knew
they were dying and were in this hospice to spend their last days, but
there were also AIDS patients who hoped to be cured and to live a full
life again. So we needed to proceed in a way that would be respectful
of those whose time to pass on was near, clearing negative energies so
that they might have the most comfortable last days and peaceful passing
possible, as well as doing our best to create a healing environment for
staff members and for patients who were to recover.
We would be doing the following procedures: Locating and clearing of
all electromagnetic, geopathic and other energetic stresses; clearing
the premises of rest-less spirits; and, finally, the space clearing, removing
the forces of grief and fear and then filling the building with Divine
loving, healing light.
DOING NO HARM
We needed to focus throughout the entire procedure on Doing No Harm.
Each patient in the building was in a delicate condition. I recounted
to the group two experiences I had had that reminded me acutely of how
powerful these energies are that we work with and how harmful they can
be. If we didn’t proceed with extreme care and consciousness, we
could actually make matters worse for those in the building as we shook
up the negative energies before eradicating them.
So we said an opening prayer for guidance at every step as to the proper
manner of proceeding and asked that every person in the building be surrounded
with a protective, loving light. We called in our Guardian Angels, devas,
and spirit guides to be with us throughout the procedure, and to be on
constant guard, making certain that every person in the building was at
all times protected throughout the process.
We also asked for protection for each member of our dowsing group so
that we would not pick up any unwanted energies or end up taking home
any uninvited spirits.
DOING THE MAP DOWSING
Copies of the map of the interior of the hospice were passed out. Each
used their own methods for detecting, first, geopathic stress lines, and
then electromagnetics. We laid all of our maps out on the floor to compare
what each of us had found.
The building was a mess. From the west, outside the building, a huge
onslaught of electromagnetics engulfed the hospice. From my previous visit
I knew that there was a net of more than a dozen crossing electric-car
lines on the street corner to the west, one building away from the hospice,
something I had kept to myself in order not to color the group’s
findings. We gave up trying to isolate specific appliances from within
the building that may have high EMFs because, if there were such hot spots,
their importance was dwarfed by this electromagnetic tsunami coming from
the outside.
There were patterns of geopathic stress that were common to several of
the dowsers’ investigations and a general assessment of specific
trouble spots was done.
ERADICATING THE INAUSPICIOUS ENERGIES
We needed to proceed very carefully with this step. This was not a typical
case where the family members could be asked to leave the house for a
few minutes. How would we do this?
It was agreed that we would build a psychic barrier that would stop the
flow of the EMFs coming from the street corner. And so it was done.
Several methods of dissolving the G.S. were discussed. Because of the
extreme caution we were required to use in this case, our spiritual guides
took over and informed us that they would undertake a gradual and harmless
process of eliminating the G.S. over a two-week period. We were delighted
with this approach. And so that was done.
We were left with the question of how to deal with the remaining internal
EMFs. As time was getting short, we decided that we would ask our local
dowsing group to donate the funds to purchase EMF-busters (the kind that
plug into the electrical outlets) for the hospice so that their entire
circuitry could be treated and the internal EMFs for the entire building
significantly diminished.
There was special concern about the internal garden area where several
of the group noticed crossing discordant energies; and there was hope
that, when we went on-site later that day, we could look at that area
and work with it in person.
DEALING WITH THE REST-LESS SPIRITS
In an establishment such as this, there were bound to be both independent
rest-less spirits and spirit possession of the weakened patients of the
hospice. We successfully called forth the spirits in the building and
gently guided them to the light where they could find peace and so that
the atmosphere of the building would be lightened for the living. Then
we asked specific permission to exorcise any spirits that might be personally
attached to and possessing the inhabitants of the building. We were granted
that permission and lovingly removed those attached spirits and sent them
on their way to their proper place.
With each step of our work, our group felt a brightening of this formerly
besieged building. Our moods lightened as the building cleared, step by
step.
THE REMOTE SPACE CLEARING
Our last step was to space-clear the building. It was generally agreed
that we had already cleared the building of most of the darkness that
had filled the hospice. So we then filled the building with brilliant
healing, loving energy.
CHECKING OUR WORK
We confirmed that our remote work was done, and done well.
CLEARING EACH OF OUR NINE DOWSERS OF SHA CHI
Dealing with all these dirty energies and spirit entities, it was essential
that the dowsers do a personal energy check. One of our members found,
using her pendulum, that she indeed had some negative energy stuck on
her. Using a simple clearing technique, she got the “all clear,”
and then we were finally ready to go onsite.
GOING ONSITE
Five of us wanted to take this additional step. Each driver was given
a copy of a map of how to get to the hospice. The manager had given permission
for two of us to go inside of the building. One of our number was chosen
to go with me into the hospice.
By the time we got there, the manager had already left, and the remaining
staff were too busy to give us their time. But the difference between
my post-clearing visit and pre-clearing was obvious to me. The member
who accompanied me burst out in a smile the minute we entered the front
door. “What a beautiful building,” she exclaimed. She was
right. On my first visit I hadn’t even noticed the décor,
so oppressive had been the atmosphere. But now, where the energies had
been dull and heavy, the air sparkled; and I no longer felt the onslaught
that had earlier made me quake. We made a special request to see the garden
area, which was of special concern to us, but that could not be arranged;
so we left quietly and made an inspection from the street.
Outside of the building we walked toward the area of the offending mass
of EMFs that had been flooding the building. I was chatting as we walked
toward the street corner and – bump! – I “hit”
something. I burst out laughing. “It’s our barrier!”
I looked to see where this mass had stopped me. It was right at the border
of the hospice building and the adjacent building. I stood on one side
of the barrier and then the other, feeling the difference. On the hospice
side, it was calm; on the other side, the chaos rattled my nerves.
THE FOLLOWUP
On Friday, April 27, 2001, the executive director of the hospice gave
me a call with an update on the effects of our work.
He stated that, before the treatment, there had been several patients
in the process of dying, that this process had been prolonged and filled
with suffering, for the patient, their loved ones, and the staff; and
that after our treatment, these patients were able to let go and pass
on in peace, a relief to everyone involved. Right after we cleared the
building, there were groups of three or four of these long-suffering patients
passing on per week, unprecedented in their history. He assured me that
we had done our work at the perfect time and that these deaths were long
awaited, and death was a welcome result; in fact, he said they were “a
blessing.”
This gentleman stated that, where there had been inner strife among the
staff, they are now content. Promotions have been enabled. Where there
had been a high employee turnover before our clearings, they are now staying
with the hospice. Where, before, there had been frequent and chronic illnesses
among the caregivers, there has not been one case of sickness among them
since February 17.
The executive director was pleased to tell me that, with the growing
cooperation among the staff, they have been able to form effective bereavement
groups that have created a tremendous amount of psychological and emotional
healing among the staff and residents.
He said that, in general, the chi (he is a student of Taoism) is flowing
with more ease, and everyone is more comfortable in expressing themselves.
He believes that our work has opened up channels for cooperation among
the people in the building, which he termed as “wonderful.”
Caregivers who have been there a long time are finally opening up to the
novices and have become mentors to them, whereas before there was suspicion
and resistance.
To add to my joy, I was told that the residents, after the dowsing, became
interested in the garden, are educating the staff as to each plant that
grows there and their properties, and they have started revitalizing the
garden area.
GRATITUDE
I think I can safely speak for the group when I say that every participant
in this process knew that we were not alone, that the powers of Source
were with us every minute, and I give special thanks for the blessed companionship,
guidance, and assistance that we were gifted with by these angelic forces.
Thank you for making it possible for us to be a part of this joyous experience.

I learned that the people in the building were happy that we did this
clearing and that the executive director personally wondered why they
hadn’t done this before. The changes they have experienced since
that amazing Saturday have been discussed with their board of directors,
and there will be an accounting of our work in their newsletter, which
will come out in the fall.
He informed me that the manager had expressed to him that she had felt
negative and blocked energy in the building before we did our work, and
that now it is obvious to her that the energies are loosened up and cleared.
“No question about that,” he commented enthusiastically, adding
that this is the general feeling of both the caregivers and residents.
The staff has expressed to him that they are now more easily able to
cope with the stresses of this life-and-death work, especially at the
most difficult times, and that the residents are more accepting of their
conditions and are less restless.
With regard to the few patients who had hopes of recovery, two who were
there when we did the treatment will be leaving the hospice soon on their
own power.
